Reminder to comment on closure of Grosvenor Road at Prince George in Muizenberg

The City of Cape Town is reminding the public and interested groups to submit comments, recommendations or input on the proposal to close Grosvenor Road at the intersection with Prince George Drive, Costa da Gama in Muizenberg, to improve traffic safety in the area. The comment period closes next week Friday, 13 June 2025.

‘The traffic analysis and observations support this road closure, but we still need to hear from you, members of the public, and whether or not you support this closure. The proposed closure at this intersection of Grosvenor Road and Prince George Drive entails permanently removing the existing left-in, left-out connection with the southbound carriageway of Prince George Drive, or the M5, towards Muizenberg,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments, recommendations or input on this proposal to the municipality until Friday, 13 June 2025.

‘We are eager to engage the local community and road users and I encourage residents to attend the information day. The City is always looking at ways of improving mobility and movement in Cape Town, and this is an ideal opportunity to get involved,’ said Councillor Quintas.
